How does STRUDS® perform Seismic Analysis?
STRUDS® analyses the generated plane frames and space frame for user defined load cases. When horizontal earthquake loads are generated, user needs to specify that the structure should be analyzed for the horizontal earthquake loads in positive and negative directions along both X and Y axes. By default, a structure is analyzed for Dead Load and Live Load, which are in most cases acting vertically on the structure. The 3d space analysis is done. The structure is analyzed for all defined load cases, the results of which can be combined by defining any load combinations for design. STRUDS® automatically designs the components for the worst load combination.
