The process of considering applicants takes into account a number of factors, but the two main considerations are appropriateness within the guidelines for personal care homes, and likelihood of success in a large residential environment. For someone to be considered for personal care home living, they must not require skilled nursing care, as this is a residential setting. Furthermore, even if their needs are not “nursing home” in nature, someone may still present needs that are beyond the scope of what our staffing and environment can properly accommodate. The second factor, however, is also very important. Accepting a new resident means bringing another person into the family.
