There are two major degrees offered for aspiring hospitality/restaurant managers: a 2-year associate’s degree, and a 4-year bachelor’s degree. An associate’s degree usually opens opportunities into smaller establishments, while an individual with a bachelor’s degree may be considered as assistant manager or manager for a larger restaurant or hotel chain. Also, once an individual earns a degree, most restaurant and hotels have training programs of their own that teach both through on-the-job training and in a classroom environment.
