Nicotine also damages blood vessels causing hardening of the arteries which causes hypertension, coronary artery disease, and peripheral vascular disease which all put smokers at risk for a heart attack. The hardening of the arteries also puts a person at risk for stroke or aneurysms. Smoking will kill you.
