How does sir capulet jeopardize romeo and juliets love?

I’m going to have to say Capulet does more to jeopardize them, simply because he is in the play far more than Montague who has about 10 lines. He only comes on to talk about Romeo being sad over Ros, to say Romeo only killed Tybalt to avenge Mercutio, and then after the couple is dead to say his wife died and now his son is dead and then ends the feud. We see so much more of Capulet’s actions, so I guess you have to go with him. He constantly yells at Juliet or forces her into a situation in which she needs to lie to be with Romeo. You could argue that had he not arranged the marriage to Paris, she could have slipped away eventually to be with Romeo. However, she had to fake her death to avoid a second husband, which caused Romeo’s confusion and, ultimately, his suicide. Hope this helped, but try not to be too hard on the dads.
