How does shipping work?
An importer would be given a quote of the products, plus the shipping cost. Shipping goods involves a series of documentations which have to be duplicated and prcised for banking and customs clearance purposes. The importation process varies from country to country and it is recommended to use the professional services of a custom broker or a freight forwarding company. There are different ways of having goods shipped from China. For example, EXW (short for ExWorks) – the importer assumes the cost and risk of shipment from factory to final destination. But it exposes the importer to greater risks. A good freight forwarder or customs broker should be able to make appropriate recommendations.
