How does Shared Branching Work?
(TOP ^) Each CU Service Center has a computer link to the CU Service Center Network switch, as does USAgencies Credit Union. When you tell the Member Service Representative you belong to USAgencies Credit Union, they look up our name on their computer, and connect to the CU Service Center Network switch. This is similar to what happens when you insert your ATM card and key in your PIN on an ATM machine. The difference with Shared Branching is that the connection provides much more information to the Member Service Representative than an ATM connection provides to an ATM machine. The transaction is then transmitted back to our main computer at USACU for approval and/or processing.
