How does Sertraline / Generic Zoloft work?

Zoloft is a serotonin and noradrenalin reuptake inhibitor (SNRI), because it inhibits serotonin but does not interact with cholinergic, adrenergic or histaminergic receptors or have sedative property. Sertraline is a very long acting antidepressant. Sertraline does not affect the reuptake of other central neurotransmitters. Sertraline has little or no effect on central muscarinic, adrenergic or histaminergic receptors.
