How does SDOT make decisions to install paid or time-limited parking on previously unregulated streets?

SDOT’s Community Parking Program is a multi-year effort to engage communities to improve on-street parking management in Seattle business districts and adjacent residential areas. SDOT is working to make parking management improvements that balance competing parking needs and support transit, biking, walking and other alternatives. In each neighborhood, SDOT staff work with community members to identify on-street parking challenges and opportunities, develop parking recommendations, and implement changes. Outcomes may include new time-limit signs, load zones, paid parking and/or restricted parking zones.
