How does SDI prevent fraudulent reporting?
SDI has taken the following steps to limit fraudulent complaints: 1. To report unsafe driving, you must be a registered member and input your e-mail address and other identifying information. Your e-mail address will be verified so that we can maintain a record of it to track it later if need be. 2. We provide reporting tips designed to ensure accuracy of each complaint. 3. In order for our system to accept a complaint, the complainant must effectively take an electronic oath, i.e., swear to its authenticity, and review the statute stating that it is a felony to make a false sworn statementthis is done by checking a control box indicating that the complainant has read and understands these things. Indeed, complainants can be prosecuted for knowingly making a fraudulent report. 4. We have numerous electronic measures in place to flag multiple complaints made against a particular plate by the same person. 5.
