How does SCLC protect client privacy?
To the greatest extent possible, SCLC seeks to keep confidential client data private. In accordance with the 1999 Financial Services Modernization Act (popularly known as Gramm-Leach-Bliley), we have developed a formal Privacy Policy, and periodically provide our clients with an opportunity to opt out of our Policy. The Policy proscribes our sharing of client information with any firms, except for those with whom our clients have asked us to share information (e.g., by confirming client investment account values with a bank from which a client is seeking financing), or with whom we supervise a client’s financial arrangements (e.g., a broker, bank, or insurer who custodies financial instruments the client owns and that we supervise), or those with whom we contract for delivery of data, or safeguarding thereof (e.g., firms from whom we hire disk space in order to maintain offsite backup copies of our database, or for web hosting purposes, etc.).
