How does Sagemcom NetGuru detect the router, PC details and other networking devices in the home network?
Sagemcom NetGuru uses various low level protocols to sweep the network and determine the type of networking devices including the router. The mechanisms used are extensive and during first use of Sagemcom NetGuru it may take up to 5 minutes to determine all the networking devices. Depending upon the type of management protocol that is supported in a device that NetGuru detects it will provide basic or extended managability of the device. For instance if the device supports DSL Forum standard TR 064 protocol or Cisco home networking protocol such as HNAP protocol NetGuru can display and manage all aspects of the devices in the home network.
