As a Road Runner customer you will be provided with a high-speed cable modem that links your PC to the cable fiber-optic/coaxial network. By splitting the coaxial cable line that comes into your apartment/house you can access the Internet without phone lines. Road Runner offers two installation options, a Professional Installation or a Self-Installation. A Professional Installation is subject to a $30.50 installation fee. This includes the installation of the modem, coaxial cable, drivers, and Road Runner Activation (sets your homepage, configures your email and Internet browser, downloads Flash, if necessary, etc.). You can save time and money by doing-it yourself with a Road Runner Self-Installation kit. The Self-Installation kit contains everything you need to connect you to the Road Runner network.
