How does RingCentral’s call screening feature differ from Caller ID?
RingCentral is the only communications service provider that offers a desktop call screening component called Call Controller, which not only lets you see who’s calling you, but also allows you to “control” the call in real time. What that means is that while the caller holds for you, the Call Controller pop-up tool gives you clickable options: take the call, reject it, send it to voicemail or send a text-to-speech reply. This last option lets you type a message in your Call Controller tool then hit Send, at which point an “auto-attendant” translates the text to speech and broadcasts it to the caller. You can also hear callers’ names. When you set up your system so that callers are prompted to state their names before the call is transferred to you, those names will be broadcast to you through your computer speakers or your telephone. When you know who’s calling you, and then are given flexible options to handle the call, you can better manage your time.
