How does REVIEW know the type of the specified name?

0

The first operand of the REVIEW command is the specified name. If it begins with a slash (‘/’) then it is deemed to be a path name. If the FILE operand is specified then it is deemed to be a DDname. Otherwise it is deemed to be a data set name. Standard TSO rules regarding the processing of unquoted data set names for high-level (prefix) and low-level qualifiers apply. The QUICK operand will prevent the addition of any low-level qualifier.
