How does reverse osmosis (R.O.) work, and how does the energy transfer device (ETD) operate?
Seawater is forced through a semi-permeable membrane, which removes all the dissolved solids and produces fresh, potable water on the other side. This method rejects up to 99% of salts, contaminates, and pollutants from seawater. Please see our diagram in our What’s R.O. section of this website. The Ultra Whisper Energy Transfer Device (ETD) recovers energy from the pressurized brine water and transfers that energy to relatively low-pressurized feed water within the ETD. Please see our diagram in our brochure.
