How does ReflecTech® Mirror Film compare to standard aluminum foil?
The total reflectance of aluminum is about 88% (as compared to 94% for ReflecTech®); however, the specular reflectance of an aluminum foil is likely to be quite low – less than 80% (compared to 94% for ReflecTech®). In addition, ReflecTech® was designed for long term outdoor weatherability in harsh desert environments, and we have conducted extensive testing with the U.S. National Renewable Energy Lab to confirm the film’s performance.
