We do not offer comparisons of ReflecTech® Mirror Film to polished steel because polished steel is not a viable alternative to silvered reflectors for concentrating solar applications. Although highly polished stainless steel can be reasonably specular, the solar-weighted hemispherical reflectance of polished steel falls into 60-65% range (see chart below), which is not practical for solar applications. It is also for this reason that we do not offer comparisons to chrome or nickel.
