How does recycling help to reduce pollution????
Well, when materials are recycled it means they are not being thrown out and taking up space in landfills or being otherwise disposed of. It also reduces the need to obtain new raw materials, which may have its own pollution to go with it (not to mention cutting down trees / digging up mines / etc). In both cases you may be saving energy, which is good since producing energy also causes pollution. Now, this is all fine and dandy so long as the process of recycling doesn’t itself use more energy or cause more pollution than it saves. Please tell me I’m not doing some homework assignment for you.
Recycling not only reduces the amount of rubbish we bury in landfill sties, it also makes better use of resources and raw materials. Much of what we throw away could be used to make something else and materials such as glass and aluminium can be recycled over and over again without loosing any of their properties. Once buried in the ground we loose these resources, some of which may have been mined and transported long distances, e.g. aluminium cans are made from bauxite ore which is mined in countries like Australia and Guinea in West Africa.
by recycling we re-use things so we don’t fill up land fills so the land fills don’t give off harmfull fumes and rot the enviroment. That’s also why people are trying to use things that decompose and why there making cars hybirds using solar pannels so on so forth. Plus by recycling we don’t have to cut down as made trees.
