How does REACH apply to substances used in biocidal products?

0

• According to Article 15 of the REACH Regulation, active substances manufactured or imported for use only in biocidal products placed on the EU market and supported for inclusion in Annex I, IA or IB of the Biocidal Product Directive (98/8/EC), shall be regarded as being registered and the registration as completed for manufacture or import for the use in a biocidal product. However, REACH does require registration of co-formulants of biocidal products, when they are manufactured or imported in a volume of one metric tonne or more per annum. ISP has pre-registered any applicable co-formulant of biocidal products or in cases where we are downstream users ensured our suppliers have carried out pre-registration.
