How does REACH apply to substances imported or manufactured under one metric tonne?

0

• Substances manufactured or imported at levels of less than one metric tonne per year are exempt from registration. In ISP’s portfolio of products there are certain personal care products containing extracts/peptides which are manufactured at levels of less than one tonne per annum and therefore are considered as being exempt from REACH. However, REACH does require registration of the co-formulants in these products, when they are manufactured or imported in a volume of one metric tonne or more per annum. ISP has pre-registered any applicable co-formulant of these personal care products or in cases where we are downstream users ensured our suppliers have carried out pre-registration.
