Michael Kramer came back to Emory for his doctoral studies with a clear sense of purpose. He first came to Emory over a decade ago to get a Physician’s Assistant degree, determined to do something practical that addressed real problems. He then spent 10 years working on reservations out west, much of it at a rural clinic in the Navajo nation. “Over time,” says Michael, “I started to feel like I was helping to put band-aids on very large problems that needed to be addressed by understanding issues from a public health perspective that can contribute to broader policy debates.” So Michael came back to Emory to obtain a PhD in Epidemiology.
