How does QA design its investment strategies?
In designing an investment strategy, QA starts with an asset allocation appropriate to the strategy’s objectives and risk profile. For example, our Global Equity strategy has an allocation of 30% to international securities (with the ability to tactically overweight to 50%), and the balance divided equally between US style and sector holdings. Next, we identify, screen and evaluate the securities available for selection within each investment category, focusing on various attributes, including liquidity, structure and the importance of a diverse set of investment choices. QA also gives careful consideration to how many of those securities the strategy will hold at any given time. The final step in our strategy design involves our Global Investment System analyzing the historical price trends of the securities within each investment category. The price behavior patterns identified by the system provide the basis for its rankings of investment opportunities and QA’s elections for client
