To help answer this question, go in pairs to the current journal section of Ramsey library and browse critical journals in literature. Look over the table of contents until you find an article that seems (by its title) to engage psychoanalytical issues. What are the words that indicate a psychoanalytical slant? What text is involved? Briefly skim the article and the Works Cited to get a sense of what psychoanalytical ideas are being put into practice and how they are being utilized. Due: TBA Paper #1: This first paper asks you to explore one of the schools of theory (psychoanalytical, Marxist or New Critical) we’ve read thus far in greater depth. Choose a book, poem or play that you are familiar with, and find a critical article (peer reviewed) that approaches this text from the perspective of one of the three theories listed above.
