HOW DOES PS41 HELP WITH LICE PREVENTION?

The PTA has a contract with Licenders, who sends professional lice checkers several times a year to perform periodic head checks on all students and faculty. These checks are done in the beginning of the school year, after most school vacations, and as otherwise needed. However, please check your own child consistently and let your teacher know if your child has developed a case of lice. A CHILD CANNOT REMAIN IN SCHOOL IF SHE/HE HAS LICE OR NITS. This is the official Department of Education policy and we adhere to it. Once your child has been diagnosed with a case of lice, he or she must check in at the nurse’s office first thing upon arrival at school in the morning and get a note clearing him or her to return to class.
