How does precautious tooth decay appear?
As with any other lesion related to tooth decay the main problem is the lack of the child“s oral hygiene associated to eating. Nevertheless, breastfeeding itself can cause this type of lesion, especially if it is frequent and prolonged. When the child is sleeping, the production of saliva decreases, preventing the auto-cleansing of the mouth in which case the food remains in contact with the teeth during a long period of time leading to decalcification.
