How does pip change in throughout the scenes 1, 8 and 59? In great expectations with quotes please?
He changes in that there are two versions of Pip; the boy in the story and the man telling the story; in the beginning it is the man telling the story of when he was younger and he changes within the story to become the man telling it, i.e growing up. In Chapter 1 he is a rather scary, meek and timid boy. In Chapter 8 he falls in love wih Estella, and becomes determined to be a gentleman to win her hand. In Chapter 59 he is a man who realises all his mistakes and forgives Miss Havisham and Estella for their wrongdoings. Good Luck!
