How does photosynthesis relate to cellular respiration in a plant?

I disagree with the above post. Photosyntheisis and repiration are not the same. Photosynthesis is the use of sunlight energy to store energy in the form of organic compounds such as sugar and starch. Water and carbon dioxide are needed for this process and oxygen is released. Respiration is the release of energy from these organic compounds that is then stored in ATP and used for fueling cellular processes. It releases carbon dioxide and water is produced. Oxygen is required for aerobic forms, although anaerobic respiration can also occur. You might say the reactants of photosynthesis are the products of respiration, and the products of photosyntheiss are the reactants of respiration.
