How does Pennsylvania Weed and Seed build upon the Federal Weed and Seed Initiative?
The Pennsylvania Weed and Seed Initiative builds upon the strengths of the Federal initiative while adding new and promising strategies developed by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The State Initiative targets smaller Pennsylvania communities that have crime problems but do not have the federal program. Most importantly, the State Weed and Seed Initiative places the “Seed” revitalization plan at the center of its effort and provides the target area with the tools to improve the overall quality of life.
