I personally don’t believe there has been enough testing on VNS. As with any treatment there are good effects and bad. Remember there is a difference between correlation and causation. Just because it is always dark out when you go to bed doesn’t mean that your going to bed causes it to get dark. There needs to be a lot of investigation before we know the cause and effect of VNS. Stick with the proven techniques for now. I suffered from panic attacks for 20 years before it was recognize as a disease. I tried a lot of talk therapy over a lot of years and although it may have helped none of it stopped the anxiety. Only drugs, Paxil, worked. The operation of the human body is complicated. Beware of anyone who says they have “the” answer. Use trial and error. Seek an understanding doctor. I can see that you think about this a lot which is the definition of anxiety.
