How does Oxfam help?
We help people to set up local schools, buy equipment and train teachers. We also help adults who missed out on school when they were children, by supporting courses for them to learn to read and write. Through our Millennium Development Goals campaign, we are working with other organisations all over the world to persuade world leaders to make it possible for every child to go to primary school. We believe that the more we know about, and appreciate each other, the more we will be able to work together to change the world for the better. We work in the UK and other industrialised nations to help young people learn as much as they can about different countries.
