How does one use VirtualDub to eliminate background noises?
http://forums.virtualdub.org is an un-official “help” site for VirtualDub. They have innumerable threads on various topics such as this, but the one I quoted as a source had this to say (which seemed to fit your problem): The “background” noise tends to be a high-frequency hiss. You can get rid of this using the low-pass filter for audio. It’s available only in the latest incarnations of VD (the ones that support advanced audio filtering). To set it up: – Set audio to full processing mode – Check Audio… Use advanced filtering – Choose Audio… Filters… – Click “Add” – Double-click on “input”, then “lowpass”, then “output” (note that the “add audio filter” dialog tends to obscure the “audio filters” dialog, which means that you might not see the effects of adding the filtes as you get no visual feedback that anything has happened), then close the dialog. – Double-click on the “lowpass” box and set up the options.
