How does one tell the difference between Cubic Zirconium and a Real Diamond?
The best way to tell the two apart is to take them to a reputable jeweler who will do a quick test and give you an answer in a moment. There are ways to distinguish the difference between diamond and CZ but they all require experience to interpret what you see. For me to give you instructions on what to do would just be irresponsible as the chance of you making a mistake is far greater than of you getting it right. As for diamonds, or any other stones for that matter, needing to breathe is total rubbish. I have had diamonds in my air tight safe for years and none of them have “died” so far. Don’t worry about this, it is nothing but an old wives tale and, like 99.99% of all such tales it is completely without foundation.
