We have removed special wine labels by soaking the empty bottle overnight (at least) in a sink full of hot water. I don’t suppose this is foolproof but we have several special labels that survived pretty much intact. Just keep soaking until you can easily slip the label off. If you can slip off just part of it, soak longer.
