How does one make easy desserts in a short time?
Lakshmi Subramanian, R.K. Puram I AM sure there are many simple recipes that you know how to make, which are both easy and quick. For example, I am sure you know how to make fruit custard or fruit jelly. Do try to make a fruit srikhand. To make a fruit srikhand, hang curd for two hours or overnight and remove excess water. Mix in chopped fruits like mango, fresh lichees or pears. Do not ever add citric fruit. Mix in the fruit along with 50 gms of sugar for every 200 gms of curd. If making plain, add a little elaichi powder without the fruit and some saffron or kewra essence. Another dessert which is relatively easy, though takes slightly longer to make is Cream Caramel Custard. Boil a litre of milk and cool it. To it, add 200 gms of sugar, 8 eggs, 1 tsp of vanilla essence and thoroughly mix together. Put it into a mould and bake at 160 degrees centigrade for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
