How does one go about organizing for genealogical research?
Most people organize by Surname, some by regions. Invest in a good software program for your computer. No matter what system you use, DOS, WIN or MAC you will find some good software available. Ask fellow genealogists which software they use and what they like and dislike. Some internet sites also have trial samples that you can download and experiment with prior to purchase. Most reputable firms have a 30 day trial period. If they don’t, skip them! Learn to use the program. It will be time well invested.
