How does one go about becoming a writer for comic books (e.g. Spider-man, Captain America, etc.)?
Take writing classes in HS and college. Submit your work to your teachers and professors and get all the help you can. Then try to show up at some of the big Comic Conventions and see if they are having a writers panel. find someone that works in the comic field and try to get an introduction. The comic industry is a very tightknit group and it is hard to get in without some sort on introduction. Sorry to be such a downer, but having been involved in the field for a few years, I have seen a lot of disappointment in the comic business in both young writers and artists. Alot of luck is involved in getting a foot in the door, but if you are determined enough and a good writer with a good foundation then by all means, go for it.
