How does one go about becoming a hiphop dance instructor?
Having initials behind your name on a glass door would certainly look professional, but it is possible to teach private dance lessons without an actual degree. You have to have some sort of qualification though, otherwise, how do you get students to come to your class? Take what you have and work on that. Absolutely no degree, certificates, or documented training is going to be a severe hindrance in getting students. Or you can do dance school.. But Most schools accept only teachers that are former professionals, professionals, or have a degree in dancing, choreography, or the arts. If you aren’t going to be a professional dancer, you most likely won’t get a job as a teacher without a college degree. So yes, you need to have at least two years (preferably four) of college for dance. You will need lots of ballet experience, plus experience in the style you want to teach. But no studio wants to hire someone without ballet experience. It’s the foundation of everything.That’s what you need
