Winning races is always a good thing, but it’s not always enough, depending on the type of sponsorship your friend wants. Factory teams will definitely need a solid record, but if you’re looking to get someone to help finance your racing, you should make a portfolio. Describe alittle about yourself , your passion for racing, and where you see yourself in 3-5 years in the sport. Most sponsors want to know exactly who is representing them so your attitude is important. Be sure and include a picture of your bike and where their logo will be placed on the bike. As far as on the track, I got my first sponsorship because I holeshot over 90% of the races I started. In the begining, I rarely finished in first, or second for that matter, but showed that I had the potential for speed, and that’s what every sponsor wants…..to see their bike in first place and in the media.
