How does One-ED support the strategic management of human capital?

0

At the core of One-ED is a set of strategies to improve the way we manage the Department’s human capital-its people. These strategies build on the themes of accountability and performance that are embedded in the Strategic Plan, the Blueprint for Management Excellence and the Culture of Accountability Team Report. They call for improving and aligning our hiring, training and performance management systems to ensure that the right people are performing the right work in the right way. Specifically, we are implementing a new performance appraisal system that clearly links employee performance to the Strategic Plan. We plan to introduce a system for individualized development planning that helps employees and managers ensure that employees identify the training they need to perform to the highest possible standards. In addition, we are developing “learning tracks,” which will establish expectations for skills in different jobs at various levels.
