How does one choose a career?

0

What do you enjoy doing that you know you will perform well at if you choose to make a career out of it? I’m a college student studying Interior Design. When I was a senior in high school, I took an Interior Design class that lasted for one semester and found that I loved it, even though I knew that it was only an introduction to what I’ll actually be doing. I maintained an A the entire semester, and only missed 5 points on the final project (I forgot to include a material sample for one of the rooms in my house…) It took me a while to realize what I really wanted to do with my life but once I chose a path, I didn’t regret it one bit. I hope things work out 🙂 Good luck!

I am speaking from experience when I say explore your interests and what makes you feel fulfilled. I obtained my first Bachelors degree and had no clue what I wanted to do. After working several jobs in different areas (paralegal to customer service sales rep to healthcare) I found something I was interested in. I went back and obtained a Bachelors degree in Nursing and absolutely love my job. It is important to explore your options and interest before going back to get a second degree. I did, and I don’t regret it. Remember, focus on what you love to do and what you could see yourself doing years from now. Also, because the job market can be so competetive, try to get your foot in the door somewhere (although heatlhcare is always open for endless opportunity). I have been in your shoes before, and I know exactly what you are going through. I hope this helps!
