How does one assess and monitor childrens progress on the preschool ELD foundations?
The Desired Results Development Profile-Revised 2 (DRDP-R2) is being aligned to the preschool learning foundations. As part of alignment, measures are being developed that focus on the English language development of English learners. These measures will allow preschool teachers to observe and track children’s progress in reaching the competencies described in the preschool ELD foundations. The DRDP-R2 is also being aligned to the L&L foundations. English learners may demonstrate their competence using their home language or English.
