How does Omnilux technology differ from Laser Treatment?

Light Therapy is non-ablative, meaning it does not cut, burn or break the surface of the skin (epidermis) as with Laser treatment. Lasers use heat and light to vaporize or remove skin tissue to evoke a healing response over 1 to 4 months. Even so-called “gentle lasers”, which leave the skin intact, create microscopic wounds on 15 to 20% of the skin surface, and cause redness for up to a week with some flaking as the skin regenerates. Omnilux technologies produce no heat, vaporization or burning of surrounding tissue, and thus, no inflammation (swelling) and no erythema (redness) following irradiation, and therefore “no downtime”. With Omnilux technology there are some immediate, visible changes to skin, but most changes occur naturally over a few weeks at the cellular level. Optimal results are seen 9-12 weeks from the start of the treatment course.
