How does OccasionalCar benefit the environment?
Surveys show that when people share cars, they reduce driving, which in effect reduces traffic congestion and pollution. In addition, we are commited to using fuel efficient cars and hybrids which emit significantly lower CO2 emissions. If all goes well, it is possible that OccasionalCar members may be able to reduce their collective CO2 emissions by 1 million metric tons within a 10 year time frame. That is the equivalent of removing 200,000 privately owned vehicles from the road for 1 year!
