How does NYSHealth review proposals and make funding decisions?
External reviewers who judge proposals based on the criteria specified in the request for proposals review all proposals. NYSHealth’s review panels include people with a range of expertise and backgrounds in the health field from areas throughout New York State. Based on our reviewers’ evaluation, the highest ranked proposals are forwarded to our Board of Directors who make the final funding decision. Both our reviewers and the Board of Directors consider geographic balance when selecting grantees.
