How does nutrition affect bone development?
Nutrition certainly has an important role in the development of bones. First go for food that contains high calcium. The most common and easily available food that is rich in calcium is milk and milk products. Calcium alone will not help the bones but it has to be accompanied with Vitamin D for proper assimilation. For this reason Vitamin D is otherwise called as Calciferol. Deficiency of this vitamin produces rickets and bow legs in children of which the former is associated with a symptom called pigeon’s chest(Pectus Carinatum). -A Jairaj Alexander.
