How does Noah & Saskia raise issues about the dangers of meeting strangers online?
When we were shooting in England there were stories of people meeting wackos on the net and having some danger to the children that are on the net. We address that in a scene where the English mother tells Noah, ‘No you’re not doing this – it is dangerous’ – and we address that verbally, every parents concern there. Noah is saying ‘No, you don’t know her, she’s different’ and his mum goes ‘It doesn’t really matter – the fact is that you don’t really know her, you don’t know who you are talking to’. So it was addressed in a couple of scenes there. However the overall thing was to explore the alter egos of kids – kids wanting to be something that perhaps they can only get out on the net. 9.
