How does NIAC chose the issues it focuses on?
While there are numerous issues which Iranian-Americans are concerned with, there are two principles which determine which issues NIAC focuses on: those that are on the national agenda, such as major legislation passing through Congress; or issues that particularly affect the Iranian-American community, such as the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS). Since 2006, the NIAC membership has a growing voice in determining the issues the organization focuses on.
