How does NewsFlow handle file naming conventions?
The Apella has a very concise database structure and file naming convention. Typically, media is stored in one or more special user defined folders, with sub-folders containing video clips, audio clips, thumbnails, and proxies. These files are named with the asset ID followed by a GUID and an appropriate extension. This file name is guaranteed to be unique worldwide thereby guaranteeing the integrity and accuracy of the NewsFlow database. While NewsFlow is an open architecture, typically these files are hidden from an average user who does not need to access these files directly, but rather uses VT Proxy Brower/Editor for browsing, non-volatile editing, inserting to an NLE, or even optionally copying these assets to a local hard drive.
