How does NEWHVN differ from the PHI/PPL delivery model?
NEWHVN is a clinically integrated network and does not use the messenger model to ascertain approval from each provider/clinic to participate in a contract. NEWHVN’s Business Committee can recommend that the Board of Directors execute a contract with an employer or payor. The Board of Directors has the final decision to bind all the NEWHVN providers to an agreement or deny approval of the agreement. Also, NEWHVN will utilize relevant clinical information to measure health care outcomes and evaluate the delivery of care. NEWHVN’s Quality Committee and Medical Director are responsible for ensuring performance benchmarks and clinical efficiency requirements are met.
